With his goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against West Ham, Bukayo Saka made it to a century of goal involvements in the Premier League. We look at how he got there, and where he ranks.
There is very little question about how important Bukayo Saka is to Arsenal.
His absence through injury last season saw them fall away in the Premier League title race, while he was also absent in the only game Arsenal have lost and failed to score in this season – the 1-0 defeat at Liverpool.
Saka is back now, though, and he scored his second Premier League goal of the season with a second-half penalty kick in the 2-0 win over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on 4 October 2025.
His penalty goal against the Hammers was a landmark moment, taking Saka to 100 goal involvements in the Premier League in his 200th appearance. He has 55 goals and 45 assists, showing that he is pretty much as dangerous creatively as he is in front of goal.
It feels like Saka has been around forever, and yet his debut also seems like it was just a few weeks ago.
He made his first appearance for Arsenal’s first team in November 2018 in the Europa League against Vorskla Poltava, with his first Premier League experience coming on New Year’s Day 2019 in a 4-1 home victory over Fulham.

It took him until his 23rd Premier League game to score his first goal, the opener in a 2-0 win at Wolves in July 2020.
The 2021-22 season was Saka’s breakout campaign, playing in all 38 Premier League games as he scored 11 goals and recorded seven assists. He managed to feature in every league outing again the following season, improving to 14 goals and 11 assists.
Saka matched those 25 goal involvements in 2023-24, with 16 goals and nine assists in 35 league games, while he still managed 16 involvements in an injury-hit 2024-25, with six goals and 10 assists in 25 appearances.
His goal in the 5-0 win over Leeds United on Matchday 2 of this season was his 99th involvement in total, and his penalty against West Ham brought up the century. Aged 24 years and 29 days old, he is the second youngest player to reach the milestone for Arsenal after Cesc Fàbregas in 2010 (23y 237d).
Overall, six players in Premier League history have reached 100 goal involvements at a younger age, and the youngest was, remarkably, almost two years younger than Saka is now.
A debate recently came up on social media as to whether Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney was the better player, with the former arguing that he had been the superior player at a younger age, despite the latter going on to have a more impressive career. Owen may have had a point, as he reached 100 goal involvements by the age of just 22 years and 57 days. He remains the youngest to do so, with Rooney in second at 22 years and 122 days.
The only other player to have reached a century of goal involvements in the Premier League before turning 23 is Robbie Fowler (22y 166d), another player who was invariably compared to Owen due to both coming through the youth ranks at Liverpool.
As well as Fàbregas, who reached the landmark with 35 goals and 65 assists, Cristiano Ronaldo (23y 267d) and Romelu Lukaku (23y 367d) also made it to three figures before turning 24.
Saka has beaten Raheem Sterling to 100 G+A by 22 days, while he has also managed to do it younger than Harry Kane (24y 120d) and Erling Haaland (24y 237d), though in fairness to the Norwegian, he was 22 by the time he made his debut in English football with Manchester City.
How many more can Saka add? He has almost two years left on his current contract at Arsenal, and reports suggest he wants to sign a new deal. Having only recently turned 24, there is every chance we’ll be writing about his 200th Premier League goal involvement in the next few years.
