Everton have announced parts of Hill Dickinson Stadium are closed today due to Storm Amy.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the official account for Everton‘s new stadium confirmed that Everton Way and the Originals Fan Wall are closed to the public today.
As it stands, they state neither closure should impact preparations for Sunday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
There is no clarity on if they will be closed tomorrow, but the game is not in any danger of being called off.
But for now, those sections surrounding the stadium are shut as Storm Amy starts to impact the football calendar.
The statement said: “We can advise that due to Storm Amy, and the severe weather currently affecting the region, Everton Way and the Originals Fan Wall at Hill Dickinson Stadium have been closed to visitors in the interests of safety.
“The closure will not impact preparations for tomorrow’s Premier League fixture.”
Everton Way is a special pathway of 36,000 personalised bricks that line the walkway of the new South Stand, and the fan wall is a mosaic of supporters placed near the West Stand.

Merseyside battered
The precautionary measures from Everton follow Merseyside being particularly battered by Storm Amy.
The whole region has a yellow weather warning placed on it with winds of 55mph hitting Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
There has been widespread transport disruption with a tree falling on one rail line.
There has also been damage to some of the overhead lines, stopping trains from leaving Liverpool Lime Street and Runcorn.
This has caused problems for Liverpool fans trying to get to Chelsea for the 5:30pm game this afternoon.
The Reds are in London taking on the Blues at Stamford Bridge, and supporters travelling by rail have been advised to get to Crewe and go from there.

In Scotland, Storm Amy has caused more problems as well, though, no matches have been called off yet.
However, there has been damage to Montrose’s stadium, the Linis Park ground.
Strong winds have knocked down a wall at the stadium, and the club have asked fans to turn up early to help them clear up.
In a statement, they said: “The strong winds overnight has brought down a section of our boundary wall and fence.
“We are in the middle of a clean up operation and would welcome help from any fit and able supporters in lifting all the debris into skips.”
However, getting around in Scotland might be a problem, with ScotRail trains off until 2pm.
Therefore, it is going to be a day of disruption for football fans up and down the United Kingdom.
