Mohammed Siraj dismissed Tagenarine Chanderpaul with a fiery delivery, but it was Nitish Kumar Reddy who stole the spotlight with an unbelievable piece of fielding on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test between India and the West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The dramatic moment unfolded in the eighth over when Mohammed Siraj banged in a sharp short ball to Tagenarine Chanderpaul. The left-handed batter was caught off guard by the extra bounce while trying to play a pull shot and ended up mistiming it badly.
The ball flew awkwardly and went towards square leg, where it seemed to fall safely. But Nitish Kumar Reddy had other plans. He showed great game awareness and launched himself to his left in a full-stretch dive and clutched the ball with both hands inches above the ground.

The stunning catch left the umpire in awe as Nitish Kumar Reddy rolled over the turf, still firmly holding onto the ball, showing his athleticism and reflexes in the perfect, breathtaking moment. Siraj was all smiles as Chanderpaul’s innings came to an end at just 8 runs off 23 balls.
Ravindra Jadeja’s clever spin and Sai Sudharsan’s easy catch rattled the West Indies on Day 3
Later, in the 11th over, India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja struck at the right time to put the West Indies in trouble on Day 3 of the first Test in Ahmedabad. Jadeja bowled a clever delivery and outfoxed opener John Campbell with a classic piece of spin bowling.
Jadeja tossed the ball up, temptingly, drawing Campbell forward into the shot. But the left-handed batter tried to play a tuck shot on the leg side. The ball gripped the surface, bounced a bit higher than expected, and hit the upper part of his bat and went straight up in the air.

The ball moved gently towards the leg-side fielding spot, where Sai Sudharsan, who was stationed at forward short leg, hardly had to move an inch to complete the simple catch. After gifting his wicket to Jadeja, Campbell looked frustrated as he walked back after scoring 14 runs off 32 balls.
This dismissal left the West Indies in big trouble, as they lost both openers for just 24 runs against India on Day 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
