Jerry Harvey will fight for the people of House District 50
My name is Jerry Harvey, and I am running for House District 50.
I believe, with every fiber of my being, that everyone deserves dignity, respect and a fair shot. These are my core values, and they will be the guiding light for my campaign.
This campaign is not about me. It’s about the people of House District 50. It’s about building a community where everyone has a fair shot at a bright future. It’s about fighting for our shared values and ensuring our voices are heard in Denver.
If elected, I will focus on five priorities that impact everyone in this district: education, health care, infrastructure, affordability and workforce.
I will work hard every day to serve the people of House District 50 and provide them the leadership in Denver they truly deserve. The leadership of someone who has worked their whole career in public service, not a career politician. The leadership of someone who knows how to balance a budget and knows what it means to live paycheck to paycheck. And the leadership of someone who will fight for everyone in this community, not just the select few.

Deb DeBoutez will be invaluable for Ward 2
Thoughtful, wise, honest, committed, and responsive: Qualities of excellent leaders, at all levels of government, and qualities Deb DeBoutez has embodied throughout her career.
As a member of Greeley’s City Council, Deb’s expertise, wisdom, courage, integrity, and thoughtfulness have been on full display. She has been a champion for each constituent group in Ward 2 without compromising responsibilities to the entire city.
Deb understands the complexity of housing, infrastructure, parks, recreation, safety, fiscal responsibility, and issues our Council addresses. She recognizes the importance of strategic planning for our rapid growth, and endeavors to resolve challenges in sustainable ways.
She appreciates, welcomes, and considers perspectives offered by her council colleagues, city staff, and residents. She asks pertinent questions and offers her conclusions with courage, clarity, and respect. She consistently promotes efforts toward transparency and access to information.
Councilor DeBoutez has lived in Ward 2 for over 30 years. She also served in various roles as an employee of the city. Thus, she offers an historical perspective that enables her to be a prudent visionary.
Deb DeBoutez’s astute leadership during a second term will be invaluable for Ward 2 residents and the City of Greeley. Our endorsement is enthusiastic, solid and unqualified!

Care for mentally ill in a way that protects rights of all
The headline article in the Sept. 28 Greeley Tribune was from the Denver Post titled “Which law played a role in Debisa release?” I have one simple question. If someone is repeatedly judged “mentally incompetent to stand in trial,” isn’t it likely that they are also incapable of living in society without some sort of supervision or guidance?
I’m glad we protect the rights of individuals with disabilities and mental illness. Now we need to take the next step of caring for them in a way that also protects the rights of those who live around them.
