Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have all missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad.
Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham was recently voted England men’s player of the year but despite returning to action following shoulder surgery in late September, Tuchel has opted not to pick the No 10.
England host Wales in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 9 October before travelling to Latvia for a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday 14 October.
The Three Lions have enjoyed a perfect qualifying campaign so far, winning all five matches and scoring 13 goals without conceding once.
England could seal a place at next year’s World Cup with victory over Latvia, but only if Serbia drop points against Albania or Andorra.
