ORHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bills will play a third straight home game, this time welcome their AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, to town.
This is the first of two matchups this season between Buffalo and New England. The Bills will travel to Foxboro, MA for the rematch on Dec. 14 in week 15.
The Bills enter Sunday’s game as one of just two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles are also 4-0. But for Buffalo, this will be their toughest test since week 1 at home against Baltimore. The Patriots are 2-2 with promising quarterback Drake Maye leading the way. Maye, who is only in his second season, ranks sixth in the league in passing yards (988) and first in completion percentage (74.0%).
But the Bills have virtually paved their way through the competition, leading the AFC with a +43 points differential. They’ll look to extend the winning streak and the dominance here in week 5.

I’m looking to further than the reigning league MVP in this game. The Patriots are one of the worst teams in the NFL at defending the pass, so you have to think the Bills will look to expose that with Josh Allen’s arm – and keep them off balance and guessing with his legs.
It’s also setting up for a bit of a revenge, or prove it game, for Allen. The last three times he’s gone against New England, he’s won twice, and lost a third. In the two wins, Allen has field to go over 200 passing yards. He hit that mark in the loss, but for a competitive player like Allen, that’s not good enough.
We have been around Josh Allen to know he’s not a selfish player and he’ll do what it takes for the team to win. But going up against a Pats team he hasn’t but the best number up against lately, combined with their strong run defense and lack of a pass defense, seems like the perfect opportunity for a big game through the air.
Oh, and did I mention it’s Stefon Diggs’ return to Orchard Park? Yeah, I’d side with Allen in this one.
