Sonora, CA — Citing ongoing reductions in Behavioral Act Services Act dollars to Tuolumne County, the Lambert Drop-in Center has transitioned to become a part of the non-profit Nancy’s Hope.
The Lambert Drop-in Center, located at 347 West Jackson Street in Sonora, has been operated by Tuolumne County Behavioral Health since 2008, offering outreach and support to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, and/or addiction.
The Behavioral Health Department notes that it is staffed by dedicated volunteers, and the center has served as a place of hope and connection for many in the community. Its current hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
By collaborating with Nancy’s Hope (effective October 1), TCBH reports that it is ensuring the long-term sustainability of the outreach services in the community.
Behavioral Health adds, in a statement, “This is not an end, but a new beginning, a strengthened network, and a continued commitment to those in need. The center will remain dedicated to supporting individuals facing life’s toughest challenges, as well as their families and loved ones. Together, we look forward to building a stronger, more connected community.”
