Gillian Anderson is back in black.
The beloved actress, 57, who rose to stardom in the role of Dana Scully on The X-Files, is having quite a renaissance. She made waves in recent years for roles in shows like Sex Education, in which she plays a sex therapist. Last year, she released a book, Want, an anonymous collection of sex fantasies, which she edited. The anthology was so successful that Anderson recently announced a follow-up. But this week, the blonde beauty hit the red carpet at the UK sneak peek of Tron: Ares at The Venue at Piccadilly Lights in London, England. Dressed in a stunning black leather dress with pleats in the front, the actress had her long, blonde hair pushed back. She capped off the look with silver heels and a killer smile.
The science fiction action film, which is the third installment of the Tron series, is directed by Joachim Rønning. In addition to Anderson, the film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Anderson will head from science fiction to the Old West for The Abandons, which premieres on Netflix Dec. 4. Also starring Lena Headey, the series follows the matriarchs of two very different families in Washington Territory in 1854.
“This first chapter of The Abandons is a classic American story — the frontier, two families — both at war and in love with each other, a battle over who owns the land and who makes the rules,” executive producer Chris Keyser told Tudum. “Smack in the middle of murder and revenge and a bit of illicit romance, we get to explore questions we never seem to get away from: What makes a family? How do you stay good in a bad world? And would you change who you are and what you believe in to protect what you love? But, in this case, we do it all through the eyes of Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, as two widowed matriarchs battling to survive. And that, as they say, is really something to watch.”
X-Files Reboot Rumors
As for a return to X-Files, Anderson had some thoughts when she heard that Sinners director Ryan Coogler was interested in a potential remake. In an appearance on ITV1’s This Morning, Anderson had a few thoughts.
“I spoke to [Coogler], and what I said was, ‘If anyone were to do it, I think you are the perfect person, and best of luck,” she shared.
As to whether she might appear as Agent Scully in the remake, Anderson said she told Coogler to “call me” if he had any good ideas for her iconic character,Parade previously wrote.
