Gilmore Girls Star Scott Patterson weighed in on whether fans can expect another revival of the fan-favorite show.
In an interview with Us Weekly on Oct. 1, the actor, best known for his role as diner owner Luke Danes, revealed that he's "ever hopeful" of another revival, nine years after 2016 miniseries A Year in the Life premiered on Netflix.

"I think if [showrunner] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] is talking about maybe a Christmas special and then Lauren [Graham] is repeating that, I think there’s intention there," he told the outlet. "So I am ever hopeful and I think the fans are too."
Patterson added that “this is the one question that [fans] have in common, and I wish I had a definitive answer, but I don’t."
Patterson's comments on the potential revival referenced Sherman-Palladino’s comments at PaleyFest 2025 back in March, where she revealed where she stood on the revival.
“We never said never because we didn’t actually intend to do the [revival] for Netflix," she explained. "Then, we all got together for a panel… and we went to a bar afterwards. We all thought, Well, this was fun! Let’s just do it again!”

Patterson's comments on the potential reunion also come after the show's mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, played Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, reunited onstage at the 2025 Emmys on Sept. 14. The pair reunited after a almost a decade to present the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

During the red carpet, Graham also told The Hollywood Reporter that another reunion wasn't out of the question and added "I’ve been saying for a long time what I could see making sense is a Christmas movie in the tradition of Downton Abbey or those other kinds of shows that are over but then kind of come together, especially around the holidays. I think that would be very Gilmore-friendly.”
Where would Luke and Lorelai be in 2025?
While he couldn't confirm that another reunion is in the works, Patterson did talk to Us Weekly about where he thought Luke and Lorelai would be in their relationship after the revival.
“I think Luke and Lorelai in the past, what, eight or nine years since the reboot, I think they’ve definitely had a child or two,” he shared. “That’s gonna creep some people out, you know, because we’re getting up there in age, but you know what, I feel really young, and I love kids, and I just want to see them with kids. I do.”
