Rosie O'Donnell issued a call to action amid the U.S. government shutdown—and the former The View co-host didn't mince words with her blunt message.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the A League of Their Own actress, 63, took to Instagram with a PSA to her home country after moving to Ireland in January.

"I call on every billionaire, every living president and vice president, every retired general, and every Supreme Court justice—past and present," she began the update in an image with white lettering on a black background. "I call on CEOs and union leaders, Nobel laureates and educators, clergy and cultural icons, scientists and veterans, grassroots organizers and artists."
O'Donnell continued, "Now is the time for every sector of power and conscience to rise together in defense of our democracy."
In the caption, the former Rosie O'Donnell Show host added, "THIS IS NOT A DRILL AMERICA - STAND YOUR GROUND ??????????????????."
O'Donnell's message came on the heels of the U.S. Senate failing to pass a budget on Tuesday, Sept. 30, effectively shutting down the government as of midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The former talk show host also issued a bold political response about Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel after ABC suspended his show for six days following his remarks after conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death.
