A variety of Tru Fru freeze-dried products are being recalled over concerns that metal could be in the product, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns.
"Hard or sharp foreign objects in food may cause traumatic injury, including laceration and perforation of tissues on the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach, and intestine, as well as damage to the teeth and gums," the recall alert reads.
The recalled products were distributed in the U.S. and may have been purchased through a variety of retailers such as Albertson's, CVS, Food Lion, H-E-B, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard's and Target.

So far, no injuries or illnesses have been reported, the FDA said.
The FDA advises consumers to check the 10-digit manufacturing code on the back of Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate and Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème packages. The first four digits and/or letters in the code will indicate the implicated product as described in the table below:
