ALEJANDRO GARNACHO has admitted he went through a “bad moment in life” after being exiled at Manchester United.
The winger trained alone over the summer as he waited for a transfer out of the club.
He was made to wait until the final days of the transfer window before finally securing a £40million move to Stamford Bridge.
And he has revealed those weeks in exile, as part of Ruben Amorim‘s bomb squad, was a difficult time.
Garnacho told TNT Sports: “I think it was a difficult moment there, just training alone.
“But I have nothing bad to say about the club, my old club Manchester United.
“It was just a bad moment in life but now I’m very happy to be here and to play in this competition and to get the three points today.”
Garnacho, 21, has had to remain patient for game time following his move to Chelsea too.
He made his first start for the Blues against Lincoln in the Carabao Cup last week, before sitting out of the defeat to Brighton.
But he returned to the starting line-up in the 1-0 win over Benfica, and was delighted to return to Champions League action.

Asked whether playing in the competition made his summer struggles worthwhile, Garnacho added: “Of course, yeah.
“When we were young we dreamed of playing Champions League nights and we are here now so I’m very happy.
“It’s three big points. We needed that after losing our first game so we’re all very happy.”
