The East Texas Angel Network is a nonprofit organization that McCoy founded with his wife, Melinda, in 1994. The charity pays living and travel expenses for families of children with severe or terminal medical issues, serving families within a 75-mile radius of Longview.

McCoy, a Longview resident and longtime country artist, recruits his friends in the entertainment industry to play at the annual concert each year. Past performers have included country stars like Lorrie Morgan, Martina McBride and Tracy Byrd.
