A crash involving several big rigs caused thousands of cans of beer and several kegs to be strewn across the 210 Freeway in the Azusa area Tuesday morning, prompting a multi-hour delay for early-morning commuters.
The crash was reported after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near the westbound freeway and the North Vernon Avenue on-ramp, causing a major freeway backup as crews worked to clean up the alcoholic beverage from the freeway lanes, KABC 7 reported.
One of the big rigs split in half on the freeway, adding to the congestion.
A Sigalert issued at 3:32 a.m. closing the No. 3 and 4 lanes as well as the Vernon Avenue on-ramp of the westbound freeway, was extended at 6:08 am., the CHP said.
