Wendy's is finally bringing back the menu item fans wish it had never taken away in the first place–and it's returning with a "fine-tuned" recipe and packaging that it promises will "change the game."
Back in July, Parade told you about how some fans had spotted the returning favorite at some Wendy's locations and we confirmed that it was launching as just a test item in those areas. At the time, a spokesperson for the internationally adored chain was not able to tell us whether or not the highly sought-after option would be expanding to other locations.
Now, nearly three months later, things have taken a pretty exciting turn and Wendy's has officially announced the debut of an all-new version of its once-popular chicken tenders, coming to its core menu with half a dozen new sauces.
"Chicken innovation is in our DNA at Wendy's, and we've tapped into our years of chicken experience to craft our new Wendy's Tendys," Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, The Wendy's Company, shared on Tuesday. "Consumers told us what they wanted in a chicken tender, and we listened – taste-tested, fine-tuned and delivered. With six bold new sauces, fans can dip, dunk and customize their Tendys with every bite!"

Its new "flavor-packed" chicken tenders are made with "seasoned, crispy breading and juicy, all-white-meat chicken," according to an official description. While the differences between the new recipe and the previously discontinued version haven't been laid out, Wendy's vice president of global culinary innovation, Becky Davis, promises that the new Tendys and sauces "deliver a uniquely Wendy's experience for fans in every bite."
Wendy’s® Tendys – along with six new dipping sauces – now available in restaurants nationwideAccompanying the new entrée are six new dipping sauces that are now nearly double the size as the originals, designed for "maximum dunkability."

"Ever since we launched our first Spicy Chicken Sandwich to our beloved chicken nuggets and now our brand new Tendys, we are always exploring ways to innovate with chicken and deliver for our customers across our chicken lineup."
Wendy's New Chicken Tenders Are Going Nationwide–Here's When
Wendy's Chicken Tenders are now available as a three or four-piece meal and can be ordered as part of a combo or a la carte. Each order comes with two dipping sauces, with the option to add more for an additional charge.
The new Tendys can also be ordered as a two-piece serving in a Wendy's Kids' Meal, complete with one dipping sauce.
But like we said earlier, Wendy's didn't stop there. It's really committed to the bit and trying to make customers' experiences better than the rest, so it's re-designed the chicken tenders boxes to be "built for dunking" and include a dip-cup cutout that holds the new sauces–talk about innovation!
