The FBI announced a $25,000 reward Friday for information leading to the capture of two gunmen who robbed four hikers earlier this year near the U.S.- Mexico border.
The armed robbery happened just after 10:30 a.m. Jan. 22 at an unspecified location approximately 1,000 feet from the border, according to the FBI’s San Diego field office.
The gunmen shot in the hikers’ direction, wounding one of them. After the gunfire, the suspects approached the hikers and took their valuables at gunpoint.
The assailants, who were last seen heading southwest towards the border, were described only as Hispanic males.
