Prince William opened up about his "hardest year" to date in a surprise cameo on Eugene Levy's The Reluctant Traveler.
On Oct. 3, a new episode of Season 3 of Levy's Apple TV+ series featured the Prince of Wales, 43, as he gave the American Pie actor, 78, a tour of Windsor Castle.

During their chat while walking around the castle, Prince William joked to Levy, "We provide this service for everyone. We do personalized tours everywhere."
The future British monarch made a serious confession later in the Apple TV+ sneak peek clip, telling Levy, "I'd say 2024 was the hardest year I've ever had."
He added, "You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are."
The Season 3 trailer for The Reluctant Traveler, released on Sept. 4, also teased Prince William's cameo. "Was getting drunk with Prince William on your bucket list?" he asked Levy at the end of the trailer, to which the Schitt's Creek star declared, "That's the bucket."

In 2024, Prince William's father, King Charles III, 76, and his wife, Kate Middleton, 43, both announced that they had been diagnosed with cancer. King Charles unveiled his health issue in January 2024
"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
The statement continued, "The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," the statement added. "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
Meanwhile, Middleton revealed her own cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present," the Prince of Wales explained in a video announcement. "My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.
Middleton continued, "This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family."
In January 2025, Middle shared that her cancer was in remission; she still did not specify what type of cancer.

In November 2024, Prince William discussed his father's and wife's health battles during an interview while in South Africa for his Earthshot Prize.
“It's been dreadful. It's probably been the hardest year in my life," he shared. "So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.
Prince William added, "But I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it's been, yeah, it's been brutal.”
