Ace Frehley was forced to cancel a show in California following an accident. In a post shared to the legendary rock guitarist’s Instagram account on Sept. 25, it was announced that Frehley, 74, canceled the show on his 10,000 Volts Tour on doctor’s orders after suffering from a fall in his recording studio.
read: "Dear Rock Soldiers. Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California, on Friday, September 26.”
Fans were urged to support Frehley’s friends in Quiet Riot and Vixen at the fair.
"Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, Origins Vol. 4,” the post concluded.
Frehley released his last album, 10,000Volts, in February 2024. His next show is scheduled for Oct 10 in Decatur, IL.

Frehley was a founding member of the ‘70s glam rock band Kiss. The lead guitarist was known as The Spaceman, Space Ace, for nearly 10 years before he left the glam band to embark on a solo career. Frehley rejoined Kiss in the mid-1990s for a reunion tour but was replaced by Tommy Thayer in 2002.
In an interview with Classic Rock History earlier this year, Frehley described Thayer as a “friend,” but added, “the fans don’t like” him as Spaceman. He also claimed he wanted to be part of the band’s farewell tour which played out from 2019 to 2023.
“It should have been me, and I wanted it to be me. After I got sober, the thing to do was to have me in the band and give the fans a real farewell,” he said. “Tommy is a good guy and a friend, but he will never be me. He doesn’t have the feel.”
Frehley admitted that it got to the point that he didn’t want to work with his original bandmates Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss.
“I took a pretty bad beating over the years from those guys, and I got to a point where maybe I lost respect and didn’t want to work with them anymore,” he admitted. “But I want people to know that I do love Paul and Gene. I love Peter, too. I wish things had been different, but it wasn’t to be. God had a plan for Kiss and for me.”
