Former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny wants to face Wayne Rooney in the ring having been teased about his involvement in a classic.
Kenny, a former Republic of Ireland international, made 315 appearances for Sheffield United before signing for QPR in 2010.
He was in goal for the west London side during their 3-2 defeat to Manchester City on the final day of the 2011/12 season.
Sergio Aguero scored an iconic winner in stoppage time that saw City lift their first Premier League title, at the expense of rivals United.
Rooney, who scored in a 1-0 win over Sunderland for the latter on the same day, seems to have pestered Kenny about the dramatic finale.
Kenny is set to fight fellow former Premier League star Curtis Davies in a Pro Project Promotions charity night next month.
And when asked by Boxing Social if there is any other ex–footballer he’d like to face in the ring, Kenny said: “Probably Wayne Rooney.
“Because he keeps hammering me about that Aguero goal. So, I think me and him need to sort it out in the ring.
“13 years on… He’s still saying I let the goals in. It might have looked like I let them in, but I didn’t!”
The Pro Project Promotions debut event on October 18 will take place in the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Marvin Elliott vs Greg Halford, Leroy Lita vs David Noble, Lee Trundle vs Anthony Gardner, and David Bentley vs Jody Morris also feature on the card.
It will raise money for charities Playskill, Sport in Mind, Willow Foundation and Helping Hands.

“In that time I’ve lost over two stone, which is a massive thing. So, that’s one of the reasons why I want to get involved, get myself back into shape.
“Like I said, it’s for four amazing charities, it’s going to be an amazing event down in London, really looking forward to it.”
Could Rooney enter the ring against Kenny?
After a stellar football career that delivered 16 trophies with United, Rooney has been linked with a move into boxing.
The former England captain is a big boxing fan and was once knocked out by Phil Bardsley when they were messing about in his kitchen.
Rooney admitted last year that he was in talks with Misfits Boxing over an appearance at one of their events.

“You never know!” he said on Stick to Football when asked if he would become a boxer.
However, he added: “They’ve been in touch and asked the question.
“But I think at the minute I want to focus on getting back into management, not boxing.”
