SENECA FALLS, N.Y. — A 26-year-old man from Wisconsin is facing charges after being accused of grooming and abducting a child from Onondaga County.
The Town of Seneca Falls Police say on Sept. 12, law enforcement got information that Brandon Szyszkiewicz lured a child from her home in Onondaga County after grooming her online. They say Szyszkiewicz left the area with the child, heading to Seneca Falls.
Police were able to find Szyszkiewicz leaving a hotel with the victim. They say the child was recovered and reunited with her family.
Szyszkiewicz was originally held in the Onondaga County Correctional Facility on related charges, but was taken into custody by Seneca Falls police Thursday. He was charged with the following:
Five counts of rape in the first degree One count of endangering the welfare of a childSzyszkiewicz was transported to the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Part Court for arraignment. He was secured in lieu of $250,000 bail, $500,000 insured bond, and will appear again in the Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, and the Seneca County District Attorney’s Office helped the Seneca Falls Police Department in this investigation.
