Thor Bjornsson is keen to step in the ring and touch gloves with Jake Paul after his controversial tussle with Gervonta Davis.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is continuing to make waves in the sport of boxing, and is set to next take on undefeated lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis in Miami on November 14.
As his star power continues to grow, the ‘Problem Child’ has been inundated with call-outs and is set for a very busy 2026.
There has been widespread criticism of Paul’s bout with Davis, given he is far bigger than his rival in terms of both weight class and height.
And he instead been offered a more suitable challenge in the shape of former World’s Strongest Man in 2018, Bjornsson.
The Icelandic giant was himself also critical of the bout, and believes a fight between himself and the American is more suitable.
“Jake Paul fighting small people. He should try to fight someone like me,” he wrote in a social media call-out.
“Let’s see how that goes!”
Bjornsson has called out Paul in the past but a fight has never materialised.
Paul is unlikely to entertain talks, given Bjornsson will share the same size difference as he stands at 6ft 9ins and weights in excess of 350lbs.
Thor Bjornsson’s record in boxing
Bjornsson surprisingly has a wealth of combat sports experience against some high-profile names.
The giant powerhouse took on Steven Ward and Simon Valily in two exhibitions to gain valuable experience.
Bjornsson is open to lacing up his gloves again – three years on from his famous strongman bout with HallHe also brutally stopped arm wrestler Devon Larratt before pursuing his long-awaited mega-fight with Eddie Hall in March 2022.
Incredibly, Bjornsson got the better of his fellow strongman, dropping him with two big shots during the fight.
And he was declared the victor, albeit the boxing world demanded that the pair met again in an immediate rematch.
Bjornsson has been inactive since, and despite links to fights with the likes of Tyson Fury and Martyn Ford, he has yet to lace up his gloves again.
Jake Paul’s plan in 2026
Paul instead seems to be focused on alternative primary targets to lure into the ring.
‘El Gallo’ has agreed a deal in principle to face former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua next year, providing he comes through the Davis fight unscathed.
GettyPaul has big plans for his boxing career in 2026 but they are unlikely to involve Bjornsson[/caption]He has also announced that he intends to meet Oleksandr Usyk in the MMA cage in the next five years.
Usyk has agreed to the bout, but is focused on ending his boxing career in style.
