As much as I love summer, I’m ready to fully flip into fall. Sure, my excitement for autumn is rooted in following the Chicago Bears, the rest of the NFL, and college football. But there is something I enjoy about discarding and donating old summer clothes this time of year. Out with the old, in with the new.
What a week it has been for Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. He helped Head Coach Ben Johnson get his first win, fed the city, and won the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week award. The hardware continues to roll in for Chicago’s QB1, who was voted the FedEx Air Player of the Week:The honors keep rolling in for @CALEBcsw pic.twitter.com/qSzvHvsvLt

— Bleacher Nation Fantasy (@BN_Fantasy_) September 25, 2025 The Sunday Night Football showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys is going to be a certified hate-watch. There is no love lost between Bears fans and the Packers. And with the Cowboys giving star pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Bears’ biggest rival (and for pennies on the dollar!) before the season began, I have a growing distaste for the so-called America’s Team. With that being said, I enjoyed reading about how excited former Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark is to sack former teammate Jordan Love:“Yeah, you get to hit now,” Clark said via the team’s official website. “I’m excited, bro. I’m excited. It’s been a long time coming, and it’s definitely something I’ve been thinking about since I got traded here. I’m excited to go.”
It doesn’t sound like the Minnesota Vikings are in any rush to get J.J. McCarthy back in the lineup, especially with Head Coach Kevin O’Connell gushing about the value of letting the young QB watch veteran Carson Wentz from the bench. “Sometimes, it’s the reactionary ability to still consistently play with the rhythm and the poise and the decision-making, and all that becomes much easier when you’re taking the right footwork and you’re balanced throughout the drop and reading with your feet,” O’Connell said, via ESPN. “That can be an incredible weapon for a quarterback, whether they’ve played 20 years or they’ve played two games.” Is it just me, or is it weird that the Vikings head coach has dismissed the idea that J.J. McCarthy is getting the soft benching treatment while espousing the value of a soft benching? Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio points out that the changes in how Nielsen’s calculates viewership coincide with the NFL’s numbers booming. The latest evidence comes from the Week 3 MNF showdown between the Lions and Ravens, which averaged 22.8 million viewers. I’ll be curious to see the Monday Night Football numbers when the Bears face the Commanders in Week 6.MORE FROM BLEACHER NATION BEARS: Go Ad-Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
