Some new details about Lisa Marie Presley's life are being revealed in her mom's new book. Priscilla Presley, 80, released her memoir, Softly as I Leave You: Life After Elvis, on Sept. 23, and some outlets are giving some insights to what's on its inside pages.
One of the most interesting stories has to be about Lisa Marie's relationship with actor Nicolas Cage. The two hit it off right away, with Cage admitting he was "thunderstruck" by Elvis' daughter, despite being married to Patricia Arquette when they met (via Us Weekly).
Elvis Presley's only daughter, who died in January 2023, married Cage in 2002, but things ended shortly after. The then-couple finalized their divorce in 2004. And while the public didn't get too many details of the relationship at the time, Priscilla has shared some interesting details in her book.
According to People magazine, Priscilla wrote that the National Treasure actor proposed to Lisa Marie with a a "six-carat, $65,000 diamond ring." However, during an argument, he tossed the pricey bauble into the ocean.

"One afternoon, they went sailing off the coast of Catalina Island on Nic’s yacht, the Weston. Something set off another of their epic fights, and Lisa pulled off her engagement ring and threw it at Nic. Furious, Nic threw the ring overboard," Priscilla explained.Despite hiring divers to look for the sparkler, it was never found.
"As far as I know, the ring is still there," Priscilla said. She went on to say that Cage went out and purchased an even bigger ring (10 carats) for his then-bride. However, the relationship was still fairly toxic.
"They screamed and yelled, they threw things and sometimes they broke things. They broke up. And the next day, or pretty close to it, they made up. Lisa and Nic broke up and made up so many times, it was dizzying," she continued, adding, "When it was good, it was very, very good. And when it was bad, it was horrid."
Lisa Marie would go on to marry Michael Lockwood in 2006. They welcomed twin daughters Harper and Finley in 2008, before parting ways in 2021. Just two years later, Lisa Marie died after going into cardiac arrest.
