FAIRPORT, N.Y. — Nobody was injured Wednesday evening when an eastbound train hit a tractor trailer that was on the tracks over Main Street in Fairport.
Matt Weber, acting Fairport police chief, said the driver was inside the truck at the time, around 7:45 p.m., but was not hurt. At least one railroad signal pole was down at the scene.
Police are continuing to interview witnesses and examine video. Weber said Main Street would continue to be closed for several hours, possibly overnight.
