Singer and former The Voice coach Kelsea Ballerini took to social media to ask for some help from her fans. The help wasn't for herself, but for her beloved dog Dibby.
In an Instagram Story posted on September 24, Ballerini wrote, "Baby boy has a surprise surgery today."
Ballerini did not specify what kind of surgery Dibby needed. However, she previously shared that they had learned he had "inoperable cancer in his heart."
As Today shared on August 28, Ballerini gave fans the news about the diagnosis via an Instagram Story. She noted that Dibby had been with her for nine years, and despite the diagnosis, "He's not in pain, and luckily it hasn't spread further."
In her new Instagram Story about Dibby needing to have an unexpected surgery, Ballerini added, "We would appreciate all of the big love and prayers and healing energy you can send his way. It's gotten him this far."

When Ballerini initially revealed her dog's diagnosis, she explained, "We're going to start him on the 'big' meds to try to make sure he can have as many comfortable and happy days (weeks, months) left as possible."
She added, "It's a complex and emotional time. He's been my baby and my steady for the last 9 years and very much alongside this whole journey with us all." Ballerini acknowledged she knew her fans cared about him and were sending love and prayers. "He's wagging his tail right now no doubt saying thank you too," she shared.
