Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Academy Bullets Swim Club’s Tess Stavropoulos has committed to Missouri as a part of the Tigers’ 2026 women’s recruiting class.

I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri! I want to thank my family, friends, coaches and teammates for supporting me during this process. I also want to thank Coach Grevers and his coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. Go tigers!!

Stavropoulos qualified for a pair of finals at the Illinois High School Girls State Championships last November. Representing Saint Charles North High School, she touched 4th in the 50 freestyle in a season best time of 23.16, just off of her best time from her freshman season when she clocked 23.02. She also added a 5th-place finish in the 100 free, clocking a lifetime best 50.07.

Later that winter, Stavropoulos raced at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships- West, where she swam a best time (at that time) in the 200 free, leading off the 800 free relay in 1:50.09. She also finished 82nd in the 50 free (23.54), 57th in the 100 free (51.00), and 38th in the individual 200 free (1:50.56).

In March, Stavropoulos topped her 200 free performance from December at the NCSA Spring Championships. There, she finished 21st in the 200 free in 1:49.87. She earned a second swim in the 100 free as well, finishing 19th in 50.69.

The Missouri women finished 10th at the 2025 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Stavropoulos’ best times, she would have tied for 54th in the 50 free, 48th in the 100 free, and tied for 52nd in the 200 free.

Last season, Stavropoulos was named an NISCA All-American in the 50 and 100 freestyles, and was named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Stavropoulos has plenty of potential to reach that SEC scoring range, and be a factor on multiple Missouri relays. With her 100 and 200 free bests coming in the past year show a good sign for future growth at the college level.

Stavropoulos joins Amelia Lee, Tori Yamamura, and Alexis Cook in the Missouri class of 2030.
