It's a special delivery for one iconic '80s rocker and his wife!
Roland Orzabal, 64, known as a legendary lead singer and guitarist for the band Tears for Fears, and his wife Emily Rath Orzabal, 38, recently welcomed their first child together. Best known for hits like "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Shout," Orzabal and his bandmates topped the charts back in the '80s and continue to perform together. But it looks like the rocker has a whole new project on his hands with the arrival of a new baby.
Rath Orzabal confirmed the pregnancy earlier this summer with an adorable photo of herself cradling her pregnant belly while standing at the base of a rocky wall. However, it turns out that one of Orzabal's bandmates was the one who let the news slip to the press of the baby's arrival. Last month, his bandmate Curt Smith confirmed in an interview with Vulture that the baby arrived in August.
"We were going to tour this summer, but Roland and his wife had a baby in June," said Smith. "So the summer touring obviously was off because you don’t want to be away from home that close to having a baby."

While Orzabal is experiencing the joy of his new baby these days, it wasn't always so happy for the rocker. His wife Caroline died in 2017 after a long battle with alcohol-related dementia.
“It was five years of hell where I became her carer,” Orzabal told the Guardian. “I had a care company as well to take the weight off me, and there we were in our big country house in the West Country with an increasingly shrinking circle of friends and it was pretty harrowing.”
The following year, Orzabal went to rehab.
Orzabal's New Wife Encouraged Him to Reconcile with Smith
After meeting Emily, she encouraged him to reconcile with Smith, whom he hadn't spoken to in years.
“She is an amazing influence – teaching me how to be kind and polite, and not hostile all the time,” he continued.
The duo soon realized it was like no time had passed.
“It was like: what’s our problem? We don’t really have one. So I went round to Curt’s place with an acoustic guitar and we went straight back to being 18-year-old kids. Curt came up with this riff, No Small Thing, and we were off," said Orzabal. "So that was the key that unlocked the album.”
