ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Much of the area picked up on a beneficial rain to start the fall season, and we have some more on the way before the week is done. Wednesday will see a mostly cloudy sky, but mostly dry weather and a bit of mugginess to the air. Our next round of wet weather will arrive late Wednesday. The majority of our rain will fall Wednesday night, with a few showers lingering into Thursday morning. We’ll tend to dry things out after this. Most areas will see up to a quarter of an inch of rain, but a few locations may luck out and get a bit more. No flooding concerns, but certainly helpful for our drought conditions. Friday will begin our next stretch of dry weather, which will likely last into much of next week.
The weekend looks pretty good! the Naples Grape Festival gets underway and we should see a mix of sun and some clouds both weekend, both in the Finger Lakes region and the Rochester area. temperatures will be seasonable in the lower half of the 70s. The Bills play a classic 1PM game in Orchard Park on Sunday, and the weather looks great for that, too.
At this point, we expect our weather to remain dry, partly cloudy and seasonably warm through the majority of next week. There are some differences in guidance regarding the extent of warmth next week, but we’ll keep things in the mid 70s for now.
