The Blackhawks players are excited to get on a plane and go hit someone who isn’t family for the first time this fall, and their first run will be in Detroit against the Red Wings. Somewhat surprisingly, the Wings aren’t going to field many bona fide NHL players tonight on their home ice. The Blackhawks, meanwhile, will have their top two centers in the lineup and some interesting guys who are battling for roster spots.

Reichel gets a chance to show what he can do with Bedard on the top line. Could be an important night for him to show off to help his future in Chicago (or elsewhere). Greene getting some run with Lafferty and Anderson is a nice preseason checking line. Greene has good wheels and has a little more offense than I think people give him credit.
