The epicenter of Monday evening's earthquake is about one mile away from the epicenter of the 4.3 earthquake early Monday morning, according to USGS. This most recent earthquake was felt in Pinole.
The latest earthquake struck about 16 hours after the quake in Berkeley recorded at 2:56 a.m. That quake was felt across the East Bay in Walnut Creek, Martinez, and Alameda, and across the Bay in San Francisco and Sausalito. The USGS said a 2.6 magnitude aftershock occurred in that area around 8:01 a.m.
