ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Williamson man pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Joseph Hudson III, 26, faces a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years, plus a $250,000 fine.
This plea follows a previous conviction of sexual abuse for engaging in sexual contact with a child younger than 11.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Rossi, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received information from Microsoft on March 14, 214 that someone had uploaded nine files of suspected child porn to a Microsoft platform. The tip was shared with the New York State Police, who traced the uploads to Hudson, a registered sex offender. Police executed a search warrant at his home and seized his computer, recovering about 111 images and 112 videos of child porn.
Hudson is to be sentenced Dec. 4 in federal court.
