La tormenta tropical Gabrielle se fortaleció hasta convertirse en huracán la tarde del domingo al sureste de Bermudas en el océano Atlántico, según pronosticadores.
El Centro Nacional de Huracanes, con sede en Miami, informó que los vientos máximos sostenidos de Gabrielle aumentaron a 120 km/h (75 mph), lo que la convierte en un huracán de categoría 1.
