The Broncos on Tuesday hosted tackle and flag football players from Evergreen High in the aftermath of a shooting at the school that left two students critically injured.
The players practiced at the Broncos’ indoor facility and visited the headquarters on the NFL players’ off day after the Broncos returned from Indianapolis.
After practice, they heard from general manager George Paton and others.
Evergreen football coach Matt Van Praag posted a video to social media after the visit of kicker Karrik Boyle drilling a field goal at the Broncos’ indoor facility.

Evergreen High has been closed since Sept. 10, when a 16-year-old student shot and critically injured two students at the school. Jefferson County sheriff’s officials said the student then shot himself and later died at the hospital.
The school announced a phased reopening for this week, beginning with staff returning to the school Monday and eventually students beginning a partial return Thursday and Friday.
