Trinidad Chambliss two weeks ago was the backup quarterback for Ole Miss, as Austin Simmons was running the show. However, Simmons suffered an injury against Kentucky that has forced him to miss most of the last two weeks.
Chambliss once again was the Rebels starter on Saturday against Tulane, and he had a huge game as the Rebels won by a score of 45-10. He threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for another 112 yards.
After the game, Chambliss talked about being the starter for the Rebels, and what it has been like the last couple of weeks.
“It has been surreal. Like I said last week, it’s a dream come true,” Chambliss said. “Honestly, just grateful to God that he put me in this position to do what I do and allow the team to be successful out there.”

— Michael Katz (@MichaelLKatz) September 21, 2025Chambliss started his college football career at the Division II level, playing at Ferris State. He played in 25 games, starting 16 of them during that time. He led the school to a national championship last year, finishing with more than 3,000 total yards of offense and 51 total touchdowns.
To go from that level to a starter on an SEC team that is capable of competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff is an impressive accomplishment. It is unknown who will be the starter next week when the Rebels welcome LSU to town, but it appears the Ole Miss offense is in good hands with either guy.
