Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lorelai Frauenfelder of Broomfield, Colorado, has announced her commitment to swim and study at the University of Wyoming. She trains year-round with the Front Range Barracudas and is set to graduate from Holy Family High School in the spring.

The sprint freestyle & IM specialist publicized the commitment on SwimCloud, writing:

I am extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my DI athletic and academic career at the University of Wyoming! A big thank you to all of my coaches and family for their unconditional support. Also a big thank you to coach Kristin and coach Dave for making this decision so easy. I’m so excited to be a cowgirl! GO POKES!

Frauenfelder’s target meet of the 2024-25 high school season was the Colorado High School Activities Association 3A State Championship. She walked away with gold in the 50 free (23.27) and 100 free (51.15), with her time in the 50 representing a new lifetime best. The victories marked her first state titles after finishing second in both events last year. Beyond her individual wins, she helped the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay take fourth, recording a 24.32 fly split on the medley and a 50.86 anchoring the free relay.

She wrapped up her season at the Austin Speedo Sectionals in late March, touching 11th in the 100 free (50.63), 200 free (1:51.22), and 200 IM (2:03.84), with both freestyle times marking new personal bests. She also hit the wall 12th in the 100 fly (55.57) and contributed relay splits of 1:51.69 and 23.50 in the 800 and 200 free relays, which finished 16th and 8th, respectively. In the medley relays, she recorded fly splits of 24.94 (200) and 56.99 (400), helping her teams to 16th and 23rd overall.

    Top SCY Times:

    50 Freestyle: 23.27 100 Freestyle: 50.63 200 Freestyle: 1:51.22 100 Butterfly: 55.44 200 IM: 2:03.44

The Wyoming women are led by head coach Dave Denniston, who has been at the helm of the program since 2017. The program finished sixth out of ten teams at the 2025 Mountain West Conference Championships.

Frauenfelder is poised to make an immediate impact at the conference level, as her career best time in the 200 IM would have landed her in the ‘B’ final last season, while her marks in the 50-200 free would have been quick enough to make the ‘C’ final.

On the team itself, Frauenfelder would have ranked third in the 100 free and 100 fly, fourth in the 50 free, fifth in the 200 IM, and seventh in the 200 free. Junior Tara Joyce led the way in all three freestyle distances with clockings of 22.75, 49.68, and 1:45.44, while graduate student Kali Franckowiak (54.97) led the 100 fly and senior Kayla Cunningham (2:00.50) topped the 200 IM depth chart.

Frauenfelder joins Marley Monsen, Taylor Cole, Greta Marcott, Cameryn Walkup, Tally Riddle, and Lillian Borkowski in Wyoming’s Class of 2030.
