The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs are off this weekend in preparation for their massive game next Saturday against the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide, but that isn’t stopping the guys on College GameDay from giving the Dawgs their flowers.
Georgia manufactured a huge come-from-behind victory during Week 3 on the road against the Tennessee Volunteers, at Neyland Stadium, in what was an early candidate for Game of the Year, and GameDay host Desmond Howard talked about what impressed him about the Dawgs’ performance against the Vols.

But Georgia finally got Tennessee to play their type of game. They wanted them to be physical, and when you get to the late third quarter, fourth quarter, and overtime, you can tell how Georgia just started to impose their will on Tennessee just like you expect to see.”
The Dawgs imposing their will on opposing teams in the way that Howard describes here has been their calling card since Kirby Smart took over back in 2016, but his team’s performance last Saturday against the Vols might be Georgia’s finest showing of grit and resiliency in the Smart era.
If Georgia can continue to play the brand of hard-nosed football that Howard talks about here week in and week out, then there’s no telling how high their ceiling can be in 2025.
