DENVER (KDVR) — The United States Air Force Thunderbirds are set to fly in two Colorado areas in September, marking their first appearance in northern Colorado in 30 years.
The Thunderbirds are six fighter jets, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, that perform airshows and flyovers across the country. Between flying formations and solo routines, the performances show the capabilities of the pilots along with the aircraft.
After being founded in 1953, the Thunderbirds said the quadron has performed for more than 280 million people across the world. While it's performed in all 50 states and 57 foreign countries, they don't perform in every state during its yearly schedule.
