Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lucas Morin from Montréal, Québec, has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Arizona for 2026-27.

“I chose the U of A because of the immediate connection I had with the team and the coaching staff. I felt a sense of belonging to this program.”

A senior at Cégep Gérald-Godin, Morin swims under coach Claude St-Jean at Club Aquatique Montréal. He specializes in breaststroke and IM but is highly versatile, with strong performances in free and back, as well.

Morin had a blow-out of a meet in August at the Canadian Short Course (25m) Swimming Championships at Sherbrooke. He placed 4th in the 200 free, 2nd in the 50 breast, 2nd in the 100 breast, 4th in the 100 IM, and 3rd in the 200 IM and left the meet with new PBs in the 200 free (1:48.06), 50 breast (27.12), 100 breast (59.04), 100 IM (54.29), and 200 IM (1:59.41). He broke the Québec records in the 50/100 breast and 100/200 IM and came within .06 of the Canadian Age Group record in the 50 breast and with .07 of the NAG in the 100 breast.

At the Canadian Swimming Trials in June, he lowered his LCM lifetime bests in the 50 free (23.37), 200 free (1:54.09), 50 back (26.45), 100 back (57.90), 200 back (2:08.42), 50 breast (28.76), 100 fly (55.57), and 200 IM (2:05.50). He finished 3rd in the 50 free, 7th in the 200 free, 4th in the 50 back, 7th in the 100 back, 10th in the 200 back, 2nd in the 50 breast, 3rd in the 100 fly, and 5th in the 200 IM.

    Best times (converted):

    Event SCM LCM SCY 50 breast 27.12 28.35 24.43 100 breast 59.04 1:02.12 53.18 200 breast 2:18.33 2:24.47 2:04.62 50 free 22.64 23.37 20.33 100 free 49.13 51.05 44.26 200 free 1:48.06 1:54.09 1:37.35 50 back 25.79 26.45 23.23 100 back 55.04 57.90 49.58 50 fly 24.65 25.26 22.12 100 fly 55.61 55.57 48.80 200 IM 1:59.41 2:03.61 1:47.57

Morin’s best converted 100 breast time would have put him in the ‘A’ final (along with UA’s Tavner Wisdom and Daniel Young) at the 2025 Big 12 Championships. He will join #8 diver Mitchell Caldwell and swimmers Vito Sgroi and Will Harrison in the Arizona men’s class of 2030.
