Shōta Imanaga has not allowed more than three earned runs in a start since July 25. Then again, Imanaga has allowed exactly three earned runs in six of those nine starts, including the last four in a row. You’d like to see him break that streak in a positive direction, but it’s tough to be a fly ball lefty pitching at Great American Ballpark.
Cincinnati Reds: Nick Lodolo, LHP
Although the monster breakout has never quite happened, the 27-year-old lefty is putting together the best season of his career (3.30 ERA, 3.86 FIP over 144.2 innings). Lodolo has modest traditional splits for his career, but this season, he has DOMINATED righties while getting blown up by lefties. Guessing his monster changeup this year has a whole lot to do with that, so watch out, righties.
