Charlie Kirk Makes Unexpected Appearance in Kanye West Documentary After His Death

Charlie Kirk made an unexpected appearance in Kanye West's documentary, In Whose Name?, following his death.

On Friday, Sept. 19, the documentary by Nico Ballesteros was released in theaters. It followed the rapper, 48, over six years—from 2018 to 2024—as he faced a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs in his personal life and career, the Daily Mail reported.

The film, shot mostly via iPhone, included a 2018 sit-down with Kanye, Kirk and Candace Owens as they discussed politics and culture. About halfway through, the Turning Point USA founder appears on the screen, though his screentime is short, mostly showing him sitting quietly as West and Owens engage in a discussion about being Black public figures.

Kirk's brief appearance in the unauthorized documentary was notable as it was released just days after the 31-year-old was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Other celebrities included in the film were Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Drake, LeBron James, Chris Rock, Sean "Diddy" Combs and Rihanna.

Elsewhere in the film, Kanye struggles with his mental health, experiences heated disagreements with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, and more.

West and Kardashian were married from 2014 to 2021 and share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Their divorce was finalized in November 2022. The following month, the rapper married his current wife, Bianca Censori, 30.

In the wake of Kirk's death, many celebrities have publicly reacted, including Full House star Candace Cameron Bure, Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, The Bachelorstar Peter Weber, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, West's former sister-in-law, Khloé Kardashian, and more.

Additionally, Maria Shriver issued a bold political message about Kirk’s death, as did author Stephen King. Kirk’s wife, Erika, meanwhile, made an impassioned promise after posting an eerie social media message just hours before his death.
