Coming back to the match against Oman, the Indian team were surprisingly off to a slow start as the bowlers were able to keep Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill quiet.

The vice-captain Gill got out for 5 in the second over itself, and the wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson was promoted to bat at No.3.

Then, Abhishek Sharma started his fireworks and allowed Samson to take his time in the middle to settle. Abhishek got out after scoring a quickfire 38 runs off 15 balls while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube were dismissed for single-digit scores.

Axar Patel (26 off 13) and Tilak Varma (29 off 18) also played explosive innings while Sanju Samson finished as India's leading run-getter with 56 runs off 45 balls.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav shocked everyone by not coming out to bat in the innings despite India losing 8 wickets. Suryakumar promoted Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Harshit Rana over him as the team finished with a score of 188/8.

Fans compared Suryakumar's move to MS Dhoni's act for CSK, while the commentator Vivek Razdan found it disrespectful.

“This game shouldn’t be taken lightly. It should be given as much respect as possible. You have so many more matches to play, and your captain is still waiting to bat at number 11," he said.
