If you missed the scary moment in last night’s game, Pete Crow-Armstrong sent a 105 mph rocket toward right field, and the only thing that stopped it was Moises Ballesteros’s helmet.
Of course, that helmet was also what stopped the ball from hitting Ballesteros directly in the head, so I’m certainly grateful for its presence.

— FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) September 19, 2025I am even more grateful that, after walking around a bit and staying in the game, Moises Ballesteros said later he felt “really good.” (Sun-Times) He admitted he was nervous after it happened, but must’ve been feeling like normal pretty quickly, because he was talking to teammates about the incident with a smile in the dugout. And, again, he stayed in the game at DH, so I have assume no one had any serious concerns.
Hopefully he’s right back in there today, given the continued absence of Kyle Tucker (who went to Tampa to work with his own PT team on the lingering calf issue). With Owen Caissie out on the concussion IL, and with Seiya Suzuki potentially still getting back to full-strength after the long illness, the Cubs need Ballesteros’s bat in there.
