EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
Aug. 25
12:45 a.m.: A caller reported her boyfriend in the 3000 block of 12th Street told her that someone was inside his house. Police had responded earlier in the night and told the woman her boyfriend was using recreational drugs and hallucinating. Officers still did a sweep of the house and didn’t find anything, marking in the dispatch notes that, “officers were not surprised.”
4:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2900 block of 17th Street reported that a neighbor threw something over the fence and the caller’s dog got sick.
Aug. 26
1:45 a.m.: A caller in the 1000 block of 26th Avenue reported a man sitting on the caller’s front porch. The caller wasn’t home, but the man kept setting off the caller’s video doorbell.
4:45 a.m.: A caller at a fast food restaurant in the 2400 block of 8th Avenue reported a woman tried to ride a bike through the drive-thru. When she was told she couldn’t do that, she became “highly aggressive” toward employees.
8:15 a.m.: A caller at 5th Street and 20th Avenue reported a bottle in the middle of the intersection with a rag sticking out of it.
8:15 p.m.: A caller in the 10300 block of 20th Street reported an ice cream truck driving around the neighborhood. The caller thought it was weird that the truck was out that late.
9:00 p.m.: A caller at 8th Avenue and 9th Street reported a man on the corner trying to carve something into a building with a knife.
Aug. 27
5:45 a.m.: A caller in the 600 block of 15th Avenue Court reported a “heavyset” woman leaning on his car who refused to move when asked.
8:30 a.m.: A caller in the 4100 block of 15th Street reported two goats or sheep bleating really loud every morning. The caller couldn’t find any ordinances the animals were breaking but did not “think that they should be there.”
9:00 a.m.: A caller at a mobile home park in the 1100 block of 30th Street Road reported a nearby trailer had “a bunch of chihuahuas that had been out all morning.”
11:00 p.m.: A caller in the 6200 block of 3rd Street Road reported a goose chased her into her house. The caller said the goose was still outside the front door banding on the side of the house.
5:45 p.m.: A caller in the 300 block of 50th Avenue Court reported a trailer parked between his and his neighbor’s house. The neighbor believed he had called code enforcement and was retaliating against the caller.
