CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- At least two suspects are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the tragic shooting death of a 4-year-old boy inside a Steele Creek home early Wednesday morning, according to Mecklenburg County court documents.
Court records state that 25-year-old Jordon Chandler Davis and 23-year-old Angelo Lamont Hudson are being held without bond after a series of crimes that ended in gunfire at a home on Cigar Court in Steele Creek, killing a young sleeping child.
Both men will be making their first court appearance on Thursday morning.

The 4-year-old child was shot and killed shortly after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, during what CMPD believes was an attempted vehicle theft gone horribly wrong. CMPD said someone opened fire into a home along Cigar Court while trying to steal a Dodge Charger parked outside.
Court filings reveal that officers initially responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area. A separate 911 caller then reported that a child inside a nearby home had been hit by gunfire. The young boy was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
According to detectives, multiple surveillance videos show several suspects arriving in a stolen Dodge Durango, then attempting to break into the Charger. Before the group fled in the vehicles, shots were fired into a house, the same house where the 4-year-old boy was found fatally shot. Multiple shell casings were found near the stolen Durango, CMPD said.
Multiple stolen vehicles
Further investigation revealed that the Durango had been stolen earlier that morning in Cabarrus County, according to court documents. A Chevy Camaro was also reported stolen out of York County, South Carolina, court records stated.
Surveillance footage from that scene showed suspects in distinctive clothing, one wearing a hoodie and floral-patterned pants, another in shorts and light-colored shoes, CMPD noted. That same group was later seen at a BP gas station in Mecklenburg County, according to records.
From the footage at the gas station, CMPD said they identified Davis and another suspect, who has not yet been publicly named. Authorities said the two suspects fled the gas station in a stolen Jeep, leading to a police pursuit and foot chase.
Captures and confessions
Angelo Hudson was caught and later confessed, court documents said. Hudson admitted he was there during the thefts in York County and on Cigar Court. He told investigators that he heard gunshots while trying to break into the Charger and ran back to the Durango. He also stated that "someone from the Durango shot in the direction of the home Cigar Court."
Hudson confirmed he was with co-defendants Davis and two others, not yet publicly named, at each location involved. Detectives said they believe there is probable cause to charge Hudson with the child's murder based on his statements and the evidence collected.
CMPD has confirmed that both Davis and Hudson are charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests may be possible.
CMPD said they plan to hold a news conference about this case sometime on Thursday, and Queen City News will stream that live when it begins.
