Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been pulled by ABC indefinitely over the host's comments about slain political influencer Charlie Kirk.
Variety reports that Nexstar — a company which owns and operates local broadcast television stations across the country — said Wednesday, Sept. 17 that its “owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show.”
Nexstar said it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Kimmel addressed Kirk's murder during the Thursday, September 11 of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which aired one day after the shooting.
“I’ve seen some extraordinarily vile responses to this from both sides of the political spectrum,” he began. “Some people are cheering this, which is something I won’t ever understand.”
Later on in the monologue, however, Kimmel made some comments that sparked controversy online.
“We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.” Kimmel said.

Kimmel's comments drew backlash from viewers across the country, including FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. Carr said during the Wednesday, Sept. 17 episode of The Benny Show podcast that Kimmel’s comments were “some of the sickest conduct possible.”
“There are avenues here for the FCC, so there are some ways in which I need to be a little careful, because I could be called wholly to become a judge on some of these claims that come up.” he said.
