A Turlock High School student was arrested after allegedly using yearbook photos on a website to "rank" other students, the school district said.
The Turlock Unified School District said the website and an Instagram page linking to the website have been taken down.
School officials said they were notified of the pages and immediately contacted the Turlock Police Department.
The Turlock Police Department identified the suspect as 18-year-old Rikio Sauter, saying he was responsible for the website.
Sauter was brought in for questioning on Tuesday and was arrested, police said. He was booked into jail for hacking, conspiracy and harassing minors.
Police said Sauter gained access to the yearbook photos through a third-party website.
School officials said there is no evidence that other schools were affected or that other students were involved.
