The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 11 has officially solidified an ending for a love triangle storyline that became a global phenomenon.
Nailing a series finale is no easy feat. Plenty of showrunners will tell you that it's easier to disappoint the audience than it is to impress them, or leave them satisfied with an ending, though some shows have gotten pretty darn close.
But was that the case for The Summer I Turned Pretty?
Warning: Major spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 are ahead.
#TeamConrad fans are thrilled with the outcome, as after three years, Belly (Lola Tung) finally chose Conrad (ChristopherBriney), years after her almost-wedding to his brother, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). There were plenty of moments throughout the episode that fans loved, including callbacks and parallels to previous seasons, a long-awaited kiss, a steamy love scene and Junior Mint no longer being the child of divorce.

The Prime Video summer romance is based on author and showrunner Jenny Han's book trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer, with the final book concluding with a flash forward to Conrad and Belly's wedding.
Those who tuned in for the series finale know that there was no wedding, or even glimpse into Bonrad's future beyond a Christmas Day photo shoot with Junior Mint (that, yes, was super cute but unnecessarily long, as fans pointed out that they would have rather seen more of Conrad and Belly living together after finally finding their way back to each other).

— gin erso | tsitp spoilers (@carouselenas) September 17, 2025Fans took to Reddit's discussion post about the episode to express their thoughts, with one exclaiming, "I can’t explain the sadness I feel by not seeing their wedding."
"The end was good but I’m devastated we didn’t get belly’s letter, the beach scene at their wedding, and the portrait," someone commented, with another adding the "Valentine's Day scene" to the list of misses.
We still have to see Conrad and Belly's wedding, the letter Susannah wrote to her, the beach scene, and the Valentine's Day flashback. We'll be waiting for the epilogue episode. #TheSummerITurnedPretty pic.twitter.com/nH6VXP9rFI
— bellsrry²⁸ ?໑̣ (@belfl91) September 17, 2025"I was a little disappointed that Taylor and Belly had no screen time together in the last episode. I feel like their relationship throughout the whole series was so important too. It would have been nice to wrap up with a wedding and everybody back together again," another fan chimed in.
Inserting my own opinion here because I, too, felt a little cheated by that. Yes, at its core, The Summer I Turned Pretty was about Belly and Conrad (and Jere), but on that journey, so many of her other relationships became vital to who she is, including her friendship with Taylor (Rain Spencer), which was supposed to mimic what Laurel (Jackie Chung) and Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) had, along with her connection to her mother. Why didn't we see her reunite with everyone when she finally returned to Cousins? Conrad is her world, but he's not her whole world, especially not after her experience in Paris (she made it clear she wasn't going to drop everything for him this time around like she did for Jere), so, at the very least, we should've seen her reunion with Taylor and Laurel, as they were so instrumental to her journey.
Others suggested that maybe the final Christmas montage was alluding to a "Christmas special," as it was "too random and drawn out with a fairly rushed actual ending."
Someone else explained, "Ending with a future beach wedding scene would have been so much better. And then a montage of all the family photos of Laurel and Susannah and their children in Cousins throughout all the years. Eventually turning into their children's photos and memories of Cousins"
One fan had a theory that we'd definitely get behind, "here me out - what if the part of jenny’s letter saying maybe we’ll see you in cousins next summer is alluding to a movie in which we see them get married ?! I just want her to read susannahs letter lmao "
"This better be happening because too much was left out ?" someone else chimed in.
It's not far-fetched to think that maybe there's another season or extra episode in the works, as Han previously expressed being open to the idea and even hinted at a return to Cousins Beach somewhere down the line in her final letter of the episode.

Not every fan was bothered by the lack of a wedding scene, as one put it into perspective that the more "important part was to show how infinite their love is. A wedding and marriage is inevitable but is almost small potatoes in the scope of their infinite love. They don’t need to show it to know that it’s a part of their story anyway."
"! can't believe so many people are not satisfied with the finale!! It's surprisingly GREAT for me. Maybe a wedding would be great but that's not the point anymore!! The Paris scenes are much deeper and richer than a wedding!! It's a new start for them, it showed the maturity and growth that's been lacking and bugging me the last few episodes," somene else agreed.
Others also suggested that the episode, while delivering plenty of Bonrad moments, also emphasized the growth of all the characters since season 1, including Taylor still being her "fiery self" but no longer "self-destructive," Steven valuing his relationship, Jeremiah being called out for his obsession with Conrad and finding his own path with cooking and his romance with Denise, and even Adam getting a redemption arc as he tries to be a better father and embraces his single era.
adam showing up to any occasion with the wedding champagne is his redemption arc he’s so funny ?????? #tsitp #thesummeriturnedpretty pic.twitter.com/DHBPxcomCR

And despite what may or may not have been included from the books, Conrad and Belly were finally endgame, which is all that matters. As one fan put it, "10/10 no notes."
