Camp Tomorrow, Prospect Rankings, College Hockey, Rangers New Captain, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

Earlier this morning, I dropped my pre-training camp updated top 20 Blackhawks prospect rankings. Coincidentally, Cam Robinson and the crew at Elite Prospects released their rankings of the Blackhawks’ prospects on Tuesday as well. They have the Blackhawks’ pipeline ranked fifth in the NHL. Here’s their top ten in the Blackhawks’ system (they ranked 27, and these are the positions they assigned to the players):

Artyom Levhunov, RHD Sam Rinzel, RHD Anton Frondell, C Oliver Moore, LW Sacha Boisvert, RW Václav Nestrašil, RW Nick Lardis, RW Ethan Del Mastro, LHD Colton Dach, C/LW Nathan Behm, LW/RW

A couple thoughts here: they didn’t include Frank Nazar, Landon Slaggert, Kevin Korchinski, Wyatt Kaiser or Nolan Allan. So take that with a grain of salt. I’m also interested that they list Boisvert as a winger and not at center. Finally, here’s some of what they wrote about Lardis, who finally gets a little love as a top-ten prospect in the Blackhawks’ pipeline:

“Lardis isn’t just a scorer, having steadily become more of a passer and transition driver. Like Robertson before him, he might have strong enough elements outside of his shot and speed to earn a top power play and scoring role. So, continuing to develop his contact skills, defence, and, in particular, vary his scoring threat are keys to becoming a 30-goal scorer in the NHL.”

Twitter Spencer Knight was on NHL Network and had some nice things to say about his teammates. Training camp opens TOMORROW! I shared all of the details yesterday here on the site. Keep that one bookmarked if you want to attend practices before the regular season begins!

    — Bleacher Nation Blackhawks (@BN_Blackhawks) September 16, 2025 Laurent Brossoit is still listed as “injured” on the initial roster for the Blackhawks’ training camp. Wyatt Kaiser is listed on the Blackhawks’ roster for training camp — but with a no-contract designation. So there’s still hope for a deal to get done at some point before the regular season begins. A fun comment here from Cam Robinson about the 2026 NHL Draft class. It’s a good one. Which is nice when you remember the Blackhawks have two picks in the first round.

An exec on the 2026 class: "People aren’t talking enough about this group. We think there are 6 or 7 true difference-makers here… not all of them will go at the top."

    — Cam Robinson (@Hockey_Robinson) September 16, 2025 The Hockey East preseason coaches’ poll came out on Tuesday. Predictably, Boston University is sitting at the top, but Providence and Maine both got first place votes. As a reminder: the Blackhawks have prospects at BU, Providence and UMass this coming season.
