A WOMAN has divided opinion after sharing the clever way she bagged some chicken nuggets from McDonald’s for FREE.
Charlie said she’s managed to “crack the code”, as she shared the exact phrase she used to nab the epic freebie.
She documented the successful attempt in a video on her TikTok page, as she began: “What I’m about to show you is how you finesse a little free snack when you’re not in the mood for spending money but you just a little snack!”
She then pulled up to the McDonald’s drive-thru, and asked at the window: “I was just wondering if I could try a chicken nugget?”
The employee then said they “might let” her, and instructed her to drive down to the next window.
Once there, Charlie asked the McDonald’s worker: “Hi there, I was just wondering, I haven’t been to McDonald’s in a while since they changed their chicken nugget recipe.
“Do you have a chicken nugget so that I could try one?”
The employee then re-emerged with a box containing not one but two chicken nuggets, before asking if she wanted any sauce to go with it.
Charlie asked for barbecue, before driving off to a safe location to enjoy the snack.
She tried to “pay it forward” by offering the nuggets to someone else, but quickly realised people were unlikely to accept free food from a stranger, so decided to tuck in herself.
“Don’t say I didn’t try to give back to the community,” she laughed.
She then chowed down on the nuggets, as she admitted: “They’re just as good as I remember!”
Despite Charlie sharing how people can do the same at their local McDonald’s, the majority insisted their anxiety would stop them from testing it out.
“My anxiety could never but love this for you,” one wrote.
“This is so impressive,” another admitted.
“OMG! The confidence though,” a third praised.
“Haha this is genius!” someone else said.
As another added: “I WISH we had this confidence, obsessed!”
How to save at McDonald's
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
“This actually gave me anxiety!” someone else admitted.
While others insisted Charlie’s brave act had them desperate to be her pal.
“You’re the type of person I would love to be friends with,” one gushed.
“This is my first impression of you and I love it,” another laughed.
“Instant follow,” a third said.
As someone else concluded: “You make me wanna be your best mate!”
