Meredith Marks is coming to onetime frenemy Lisa Barlow's defense.
During the Season 6 premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Tuesday, Sept. 16, cast member Angie Katsanevas calls out Barlow, 50, for skipping a girl's getaway due to news involving some business legal issues she wanted to avoid discussing with the group. Katsanevas, 51, goes as far as to compare Barlow to former series regular Jen Shah, who is currently in federal prison for her involvement in conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
But Marks, 53, thinks Katsanevas' comments were completely out of line.

"I didn't know very much about these legal cases prior to that moment," the Meredith Marks Caviar owner exclusively tells Parade. "I just knew they existed. Lisa had told me about it. I hadn't read anything, so I couldn't really speak very intelligently about the case itself because I didn't know what they said. But what I do know is a civil case is very different from criminal charges. And, you know, this is an individual filing a lawsuit that, quite frankly, anyone can do."
Barlow's legal drama involving her businesses Vida Tequila and Luxe Marketing have been hot topic of discussions on the show with the ladies before, and this season appears to be no different. Cast member Bronwyn Newport tells the ladies she's heard about "multiple issues" for Barlow, most likely referring to The Carlson Lawsuit in which her former friend, Bart Carlson, claims Barlow owes him well into the six figures for unpaid loans.
It's important to note, that some of Barlow's business lawsuits have already been dismissed.

"I can sue anyone I want tomorrow, and it doesn't make it true," the DJ points out. "It doesn't mean that Lisa did anything wrong. You can lose a civil law suit and still not have done anything wrong. I mean, there are things that are up to disagreement, and it's not that deep. So to compare a civil suit to a criminal suit, to me, is just so reaching. It doesn't make sense. Maybe it's just because I'm a lawyer and I understand it. I don't know, it made no sense to me."
Marks and Barlow have worked hard to repair their friendship after a couple of tumultuous seasons, and the Park City store owner would like to keep it that way.

"Lisa and I, you know, we really got there last year," Marks, who's launching new gossip game RÜMORS & NASTINESS, adds. "It took a while for us to repair our friendship, because we really had a lot of people who didn't want us to repair it, and you'll even see this season, there's some people really trying to throw a lot of gas on the fire, trying to start problems between us. But the thing is, it's like, once you know that someone's doing that, it doesn't work anymore. So it's like, 'Okay, we got the memo now.' So what are you going to do next? Like, it's not going to work."
And while the Salt Lake OG is back for a fresh sixth season, the mom of three teases that a lot of drama is going to feel familiar to the fans.
"There's a lot of things that are reminiscent of past behaviors from a lot of the women," Marks reveals. "I don't know. You'll have to see. There's a lot of chaos. We always bring the chaos and the drama, and I feel like that's kind of not new. It's just hard to stomach."
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 premiered on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo with a supersized episode and is available on Peacock the next day.
